The work is music, light and mindfulness in architecture

Traveling around the world I noticed there were no designated non-denominational spaces to sit in stillness. I designed seven meditation spaces for contemporary museums and public spaces. Designing zeropoint spaces is a way to fulfill a personal need to sit in stillness in a beautiful inspiring space without interruption.

I feel spaces dedicated to stilling the mind and calming the spirit are really needed. Unplugging is not easy. Sometimes we just need to zero-out and reset. Hence the name zero point פתח.

Inspired by Robert Turell’s work below, I want to create an immersive space using light to evoke mystery and speak to a deeper part of us that is ignored.

In 2013, I experienced his work for the first time. It was pure inspiration. I just wanted to sit in his spaces for hours.

Traveling up to Marin County, I found myself sketching up ideas for spaces immediately. I asked Mik Lavage to help put together some beautiful soundscapes that could be played in the background. We produced the first zeropoint CD in 2014. click to buy

All inspirational threads firing, I then reached out to a talented model maker friend Ovid and asked him to create architectural models from my drawings featured here.

I have to say I really like an artefacts. I guess I am tactile being. I like holding and touching and play with things.

It is my dream to one day to meet Robert and collaborate with him on my zeropoint spaces. Below are photos of three of the zeropoint models.
